The bears and pillow have been finished! I took a number of photos. There are two medium bears (11.5″ tall) one small bear (8″ tall) and 1 pillow (16″ x 12″) with an invisible zipper. The back of the pillow was made from the lining of the coat. The bow on the pillow is removable.
The paw pads and inner ears were made from a special suede like fabric in a tan color to contrast with the black mink so that the bears do not look like black blobs. Their noses are also tan and they each have some white under their eyes so that you can see their faces. There were 3 initials on the lining of the coat. They were too large to all be included on one bear. Since there were three bears, I appliqued each initial onto the bow of each one of the bears.
All the bears are simply adorable, but my small one is precious. I will truly enjoy the pillow as well. Thanks for all of the love you put into each piece. This is such a special way to remember Mom. I was with her in Alaska when Dad purchased the coat for her. That is such a special memory and now I will have a snippet or two to keep that cherished time alive. These bears are the sweetest ever! My Mom’s coat just hung in the closet for many years. Now I will think of her each time I look at one of these cute bears. They will be something special to hand down to each of my two grandsons. Thank you so much, Laura Lynn!
